SG1 plans feature on regional TV news
Mace’s Director of Development, Kevin Cowin along with the Leader of Stevenage Borough Council, Sharon Taylor featured on the BBC’s Look East evening news programme on 7th January.
Kevin explained the key parts of SG1 and visited Southgate, where one of the first phases of development will come forward, transforming empty buildings into a new park and new homes for Stevenage. Sharon explained the wider vision for the regeneration of the town centre and visited the historic town square, where improvements are already underway.
“There’s building work going on to make the public parks and town centre better with new paving, lighting and seating. We will see a complete transformation with bars, restaurants and cafés, flexible working spaces, gyms and leisure activities as well as much better public transport interconnection.”
Councillor Sharon Taylor, Leader Stevenage Borough Council
“The old police station, which has been boarded up for several years will be demolished. We will build new apartments with a brand-new public park as a new green gateway into the town.”
Kevin Cowin, Development Director, Mace
